In 1978, 1 year after starting Ven'Amour Organic Farms, Kim & Steve leased the small orchard at the dead end of the road. The property is one of the original homesteads in the valley, sitting directly on the Similkameen River and butting right up to the U.S border. Over the past three decades, the family replanted the orchards and also began planting wine grapes on the gentle hillside above the river. Fast forward to 2014, Kim & Steve in collaboration with their son, Nathan Venables accomplished winemaker, purchased what has become known as Dead End Estate.
Dead End Estate now produces premium grape wine from its own 4 acres of certified organic vineyard under the Dead End Cellar Series label.
